FOLD UP THE HEM
Hem the bottom edge of the fabric panels and add curtain weights. This is a double hem (turned twice) 8cm for sill length
curtains and 10cm for floor length curtains:
- Lay the panel wrong side up.
- Ensure the bottom of the fabric panel is straight.
- From the bottom measure up twice hem depth (eg 16cm or 20cm) and mark a line in vanishing marker or light pencil.
- Fold up to this line (and press)
- Fold up another (10cm or 8cm) again and press
- Unfold the hem and use the hem fold lines to fold in and press a mitred corner at each side of the hem.

INSERT WEIGHTS
There are 2 types of weights you can sew into the hem.
- Fabric covered penny lead weights at each end and every half width.
- Lead weight rope inserted along the length of the hem.
Our preferred workroom method is to use the lead rope on our lined curtains. Cindy demonstrates both methods in the video.
